ART WALK through TU Delft campus

30 May 2017

Wednesday 7th of June 2017 14.00-16.00 Meeting point: Botanical Garden, Museumshop, Poortlandplein 6 in Delft

TU Delft has significant buildings by internationally acclaimed architects and has a lot of art by well-known artists. In an art-walk we want to make you enthusiastic for this inheritance and the stories that are connected to it. Some divide the world into Humanities people and Science people; artists and geeks; intuitive types and analytical types. You’re either one or the other, and our culture and education system do their level best to reinforce this divide. But throughout history, it’s been proven over and again that if you want to be truly innovative, reaching across the divide between the sciences and the arts is the starting point for triggering the boldest ideas. Art should be integral to every university, even a technical one like ours. That’s why we are very happy to introduce you more closely to the artwork present in the TU Delft.

Your Guides: Marion Vredeling is program manager of the TU Delft Library. She is a university’s resident Art enthusiast and is also involved in storytelling projects. Ad Bercht is Informationspecialist (on Architecture) in the TU Delft Library and is an Artist himself with a great interest in the history of the Art on the campus of TU Delft.
