Ordering copies or scans
Are you looking for an article that is not available online? Or would you like to make a copy from a book that cannot be taken out on loan? We can make copies and scans for a fee. Even if the article or book is not in our collection, we can in some cases provide copies or scans. The documents will be delivered via e-mail (PDF) or in print copies by post.
Limited availability to companies
Because of licence restrictions, we ceased supplying copies from our digital collection to companies on 1 January 2009. An exception is made if TU Delft Library holds the only copy of the article in question in the Netherlands. See also Business users: requesting copies
Customer number
You do not need to be a member of TU Delft Library for this service, but you must have a TU Delft customer number. Please contact Ask Your Library, our customer service, to apply for a customer number. This is free of charge.
Ordering
There are various ways of ordering copies or scans:
- Fill in the application form
- By searching the collection via the search field in the top right of this page. In the case of journals and proceedings from the depot or online articles, you will see a ‘Copy request’ button after logging in.
- By post or e-mail; see Contact. You will receive a print copy, not a PDF.
- By telephone for urgent requests. Call 015 27 85678.
Response time
We provide copies or scans from our own collection within four working days (Mon-Fri). This is only possible if the application details are correct and if we actually have the relevant item available. If a copy has to come from another library or even from abroad, the response time will be longer and impossible to guarantee.
Urgent requests
- Urgent requests are given priority, for which extra charges are payable.
- State on the form that your request is a ‘rush delivery'.
- Make your request by telephone, on 015 27 85678.
Urgent requests from our own collection
- Ordered before 12:00 noon: delivered the same day.
- Ordered after 12:00 noon: delivered the following day.
If these delivery times are not feasible owing to circumstances, we will let you know as soon as possible.
Urgent requests from other collections
If you have an urgent request for a document that is not in our collection, your request will be given priority, for which extra charges are payable. Unfortunately we cannot make any guarantees regarding how long the process will take.
