Request an ORCID

As a TU Delft researcher you are highly encouraged to create an ORCID iD.

What is ORCID?

ORCID stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID and is a unique and international identifier for researchers. An ORCID iD distinguishes you from other authors and connects you with your publications and professional activities across research systems. Having and using an ORCID iD also simplifies manuscript submissions and improves author search results. In sum:

  • It makes your work visible and connected to you throughout your career
  • It ensures proper attribution
  • It minimizes repetitive entering of data online
  • It is required by major publishers and funders

Watch this ORCID video for more information or download this informative ORCID e-flyer.

Create your ORCID iD in 3 steps

As a TU Delft researcher, you are strongly encouraged to create an ORCID iD for all the reasons mentioned above. You can create an ORCID iD in three easy steps:

  1. Register your ORCID iD via orcid.org/register
Complete the easy online registration in 30 seconds
  2. Add information
Give trusted organisations (like IEEE, PLoS and AGU) permission to update your ORCID record.
  3. Use your ORCID iD
Include your ORCID iD when you submit new publications, apply for grants, and enter it in your research workflow to ensure you get credit for all your work.
